Architectural Design

Earth Bound Homes no longer designs projects in-house. We have decided that our clients are best served by taking advantage of the collaboration between a professionally trained Architect and our company. If you are interested in a major home renovations or a new custom home, we highly recommend that you contact us so that we may recommend one of the many architects that we have worked with in the past and that we feel offer the homeowner the best mix of artistic vision, solid communication skills, and logical reasoning with respect to both space planning and structural efficiencies. We will only recommend that you contract with a licensed, local architect with a extensive pedigree of similar projects. Architects undergo years of intensive training, often in 5 year college programs, and many have decades of practical, in field experience building and designing homes. This bredth of knowledge is essential to the successful design and construction of a new home or a major remodel or addition. This symbiotic cooperation between architect and builder results in better homes that cost less to build, less to maintain and less to opperate(heat, cool, light, etc.), saving you thousands and thousands of dollars a year.

We have worked with many architects over the years and have developed fantastic relationships with many highly respected, award winning architects. that can help our clients get exactly what they want from their homes. While it is true that anybody can design a home, developing a good design gives you what you want without adding unused space. Remember, building the smallest home that gives you everything that you want in your home is not only the greenest way to build but it is also the best way to save a lot of money. If you do not have an architect already, we can recommend several based on your project size, style and budget.

Once an architect is chosen, we recommend that Earth Bound Homes be brought in to collaborate in the development of the project. This ensures that budgetary constraints and green building principles, materials and details are included in the project’s design and architectural layout.
